Election 2012

Ron Paul faithful seek plurality of delegates in Nebraska!

on . Posted in Election 2012

GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska (PNN) - July 9, 2012 - This weekend will be Ron Paul’s last opportunity to get the delegates he needs to qualify for a presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention in August.

Paul, known widely as The Patriot Congressman due to his principled stand for personal liberty and a free market, already has a plurality of delegates from Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Iowa and Louisiana. Now he needs a plurality of support from Nebraska’s 32 delegates in the last state to hold its convention for delegates.

Accordingly, Ron Paul supporters are planning their grassroots efforts to make sure this weekend’s convention goes as well as possible for their candidate. Paul’s supporters have laid out a three-step plan that uses their successful planning in Maine as a template.

First, meet up the night before to get everyone on the same page about who to vote for, including the convention chair. Second, get to the convention several hours ahead of everyone else to avoid being caught in line during registration. Third, vote for the convention chair.

The Daily Paul
writer says, “Stay sharp and show up in force!” The writer then orders Paul’s supporters to make sure that the convention chair is put up for a vote, and tells them to make sure voting machines are not used to count delegate votes.

Mitt Romney became the presumptive GOP candidate in late May when he secured the 1,144 delegates needed for the nomination. While Paul stopped actively campaigning in May, he is continuing to run as a presidential candidate to advance his platform of liberty and constitutional Rule of Law at the Republican National Convention.

Paul supporters are also gearing up for the convention in Tampa, Florida. On August 26, Paul supporters will celebrate the former Air Force surgeon’s libertarian campaign platform by holding a festival with music, entertainment and speakers. Although the Texas congressman won’t attend the festival, he’ll be speaking at his own rally several miles away.
