ELMENDORF AFB, Alaska (PNN) - March 11, 2020 - Fighter jets from the Fascist Police States of Amerika and Canada intercepted two Russian aircraft flying just off Alaska's northern coast on Monday.
The North American Aerospace Defense Command planes, which included Amerikan F-22 stealth fighters and Canadian F-18 jets, escorted the two Russian Tu-142s during their four-hour flight.
The FPSA and Canadian fighter planes were supported by a KC-135 Stratotanker and an E-3 Sentry AWACS aerial reconnaissance aircraft.
Military officials say the Russian jets never left international airspace but did come within 50 nautical miles - or 57 miles - of Alaska’s northern coast at one point.
NORAD says the Russian aircraft at no time entered the sovereign airspace of the FPSA or Canada.
Russian fighters coming this close to North America is common, averaging up to seven times a year since Russia began the practice again in 2007.
“NORAD continues to operate in the Arctic across multiple domains,” NORAD Commander General Terrence O’Shaughnessy said in the Twitter statement. “As we continue to conduct exercises and operations in the north, we are driven by a single unyielding priority: defending the homelands.”
