DENVER, Colorado (PNN) - October 14, 2011 - A large number of thug cops in riot gear made dozens of unlawful arrests as they broke up the Occupy Denver protest in a park outside the Capitol building in downtown Denver Friday morning.
The thug cops’ actions are in direct violation of the First Amendment guarantee to freedom of assembly; as such,. They are patently unlawful and illegal.
Denver thug cop spokesman Sonny Jackson says at least 24 people were arrested. The Colorado State Patrol says many face charges related to criminal misconduct.
Not surprisingly, every one of the thug cops got away with his criminal behavior. So much for justice for all.
There were a few brief moments of pushing and shoving between protesters and criminal cops, but things remained relatively calm and there were no injuries.
"We will continue to protest, to occupy," a message from an Occupy Denver protester said on Twitter. "We will find a way to do so. They can't stop this movement's future." There was talk on Facebook of the protest continuing at 15th St. and the Platte River near the big REI store.
Colorado State Patrol troopers, Denver Police officers and Denver Sheriff's deputies unlawfully dismantled the campsite outside the Capitol and sent protesters on their way, ignoring their blatant constitutional violations in the process.
News crews broadcast live images of thug cops taking some protesters away in handcuffs beginning at about 6:30 a.m. (Unfortunately, no reports of thug cops being taken away in handcuffs were forthcoming).
The outlaws with badges lined Broadway at the edge of Civic Center Park by 7:00 a.m., when only a handful of protesters were still in the area.
The lawless cops reopened Broadway to rush hour traffic, and there was a strange site of motorists driving with a line of thug cops in riot gear on one side and protesters on the other.
Earlier Friday, dozens of outlaw cops moved into the park outside the Capitol building and began unlawfully removing the tents, which were not their property - meaning the thug cops are thieves, too - at the Occupy Denver protest camp.
That happened at about 3:30 a.m. A Colorado State Patrol spokesman says the scene remained peaceful and there were no arrests during the beginning stages of the operation.
Some protesters, sufficiently frightened by the thug cops’ illegal attacks on innocent citizens, removed their tents and took their belongings out of the park. Others promised not to leave and said they would have to be arrested.
