Rep. Ilhan Omar’s father is a suspected terrorist!

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (PNN) - September 17, 2019 - Fanning the flames of the controversy surrounding a prior marriage, Rep. Ilhan Omar (Minn.) deleted a tweet Tuesday morning that wished a Happy Father's Day to a man named "Nur Said," who is at the center of the controversy regarding her former marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.

Allegations regarding Omar's alleged immigration fraud have surrounded her since she came to prominence as a progressive figure with her election as a freshman Democrat representative in 2018. It is undisputed that Omar, along with at least part of her family, emigrated to Amerika from war-torn Somalia in 1995.

Much of the remainder of Omar's personal history remains shrouded in mystery due to Omar's reluctance to discuss many of the details and shoddy Somali record keeping. In 2009, she married a man named Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, whom she ultimately divorced in 2017.

Some have claimed that this marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi was a sham marriage entered into in order to help Ahmed Nur Said Elmi legally enter the Fascist Police States of Amerika in order to attend a university, and that Ahmed Nur Said Elmi was, in fact, her brother. Other than general denials of the story, Omar has been highly reluctant to discuss details of her past.

One of the key links in the story is a man named Nur Said Elmi Mohamed, who is Omar’s father.

Although Omar has never explicitly denied that Nur Said Elmi Mohamed is her father, the deletion of a 2013 post on Twitter wishing him a Happy Father's Day immediately raised eyebrows.

In addition to being Ilhan Omar’s father, Nur Said Elmi Mohamed is a suspected terrorist and there are reports that he is currently living in the FPSA.

Jon Levine, who writes for the New York Post, also pointed out that the Web archive still has the tweet, which was originally posted on June 26, 2013.

It should be noted that the tweet does not necessarily prove the connection to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, or that Omar's ex-husband was in fact her brother. But it does suggest, as many have pointed out, that due to the efforts made by reporters and local media outlets in Minnesota, Omar may be starting to feel nervous about leaving even basic details of her past exposed.
